Ilona Coulson-Ashworth MSc 
 
After being the first in her family to attend university, Ilona was awarded a scholarship to study an MSc Agricultural Economics at the University of Reading, graduating with Distinction. With a desire to work in the environmental sector, Ilona’s career started as a carbon manager developing Verra and Gold Standard carbon credit schemes across East Africa. 
 
Joining a large woodland charity in 2020, Ilona gained experience in the management of woodland creation and agroforestry in the UK and generating carbon offsets. Ilona contributed to new nature carbon standards and follows emerging compliance and biodiversity markets, helping landowners to access funding for environmental schemes. 
 
Ilona specialises in woodland creation, Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code, farm carbon footprinting, managing offsets and biodiversity credits. Ilona is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters
